Born in Ottawa, Canada, a film maker Alison Maclean had proven his ability in some episodes of popular television series, such as Homicide: Life on the Street and the first two episodes of Sex and the City. She rejected an offering from Disney, but interested with Jesus' Son, a Dennis Johnson's novel. She took it as her next film, because of its unordinary story. Alison was regarded as creative producers, who gave fresh idea and encourage the audiences. Alison went to Auckland art school to study sculpture and photography, but soon she moved to filmmaking, because she wanted to join many aspects she interested in making film. Alison met producer Brigid Ikin and worked out some short movies. Later, she directed episode of Subway Stories in 1997. Her other credits are Persons of Interest (2004) and Crush (1993).
